"AMATA COLEMAN, REPUBLICAN LADY OF INSPIRATION"
Dear Editor
This year's election has come to an end and while some are overjoyed with the results, some are dismayed. As a new voter, I didn't realize how important this was until I became part of it. And I am so glad that I made my first choices this year. I admired so many candidates but Mrs. Aumua Amata Coleman is my inspiration.
In the year 2004, I was a Junior Statesmen Scholarship recipient to the University of Stanford in Palo Alto. I didn't realize how passionate I was about politics until I was stuck to do a speech about Gay Marriage, Abortion, School Vouchers and having God's name in the Pledge of Allegiance. I was fanatical about the whole situation and I loved it. Not only that but I found out that I was a Republican. A conservative young me.
And so is Amata. Amata, I appreciate the way you fight for your territory, regardless of the many problems you have faced. I know that if our people knew more about the differences between Democrats and Republicans, there would have been a slight change in their vote. I have seen the ballots rise and fall each year the election comes around, but the one constant through it all is you.
You are truly an inspiration. I hope that you do not give up now. Ben Carson once said that "If a door closes a window opens" and I want to say the same to you. Keep up that Republican spirit and that Republican heart.
Yours truly,
Young Republican Voter
